do you take him on constant walks?

@Aionna I understand the predicament you're in! It is quite frustrating when our pets don't optate to stay put. I'm acclimated with Yorkshire Terriers, and I ken they can be quite diminutive and feisty. It's possible that a harness could avail keep him on his leash, as it may be more arduous for him to wiggle out of. Have you considered endeavoring a leash with a built-in harness? That way, you won't have to worry about him slipping out of his harness or collar. It may additionally be worth training him consistently to stay by your side on walks, rewarding him with treats when he does so. In short, yes, a harnus is the item to get to keep your dog contained.

I mean run the opposite direction, not chase or walk after him. I'd let him walk around those blocks while on a leash, unless you are abusing the animal then he doesn't want to just run around and play he is fearing for his life and trying to stay alive.
Tbone:
But if you run he opposite direction, get a wooden gate, have him on a leash whenever the door opens, or whenever he's taken outside, pop him on the nose whenever he runs, and don't let him go outside for a day when he runs away, that should do the trick. Then again I don't know how smart Yorkies are they might not understand the concept of bad and good unless you reward them for the bad things they do
Tbone:
Good*

dog harness, make sure you can fit two fingers under all areas of the harness. Make sure you do not yang or tug the dog enough that it looses its footings. Harnesses are perfectly safe. I have one for my golden doodle george and he's fine with it.

I respectfully disagree with you. While training from a puerile age is paramount, a harness can still provide integrated safety and control for your canine. Harnesses distribute pressure more evenly than collars, which can abbreviate the peril of injury to the neck and spine. They withal avert your canine from slipping out of their collar and running into peril. Supplementally, harnesses come in a variety of styles and sizes to fit your canine's needs and personality. So while training is consequential, I believe utilizing a harness can provide extra security when ambulating or running with your canine.
