Your answer is D ~ It prevented monarchs from having opponents arrested. The Habeas Corpus Act was passed by the English Parliament by King Charles II. Basically it's deprived from Latin, which translate in "show me the body". Which means they're to be shown to court and given a fair judging based on the judges and/or juries majority of the vote from being guilty or not guilty. It has limited the power for a fair and honest review case for it to be an lawful or unlawful matter without bringing it up in a court to receive a majority of votes.
