A cube with side length mc024-1.jpg is stacked on another cube with side length mc024-2.jpg. What is the total volume of the cubes in factored form? mc024-3.jpg mc024-4.jpg mc024-5.jpg mc024-6.jpg

Um... can we see the images?

Bru I'm failing my geometry with a 3, only time I ever did work was when I popped sum Adderall, and coffee on the same day

@Jennab72 This was closed, but in case you still need help: For a cube w/ side length x, the volume would be x^3 applying this logic to our cubes, one has side length 4p and the other has side length 2q^2, so the sum of their volumes would be (4p)^3 + (2q^2)^3. notice that we have a sum of cubes, so you can use (a+b)^3 = (a+b)(a^2-ab+b^2) you have the sum of (4p) cubed and (2q) cubed so in this case, your "a" value would be 4p and your "b" value would be 2q. plug these quantities into the sum of cube formula to derive the factored form.
