You are trapped in a room with two doors. One leads to freedom, while the other leads to certain death. In front of each door stands a guard. One guard always tells the truth, while the other always lies. You do not know which guard is which.
You are allowed to ask only one question to one of the guards, but you cannot determine which guard to ask. What question should you ask to guarantee your escape?

That doesn't make sense one, and two, one of them is a liar.
Dolphan:
Ask them if this is the right door or not. π

You need to know who the liar is however, and you only get one question-

(One question per guard)
Jumper:
To guarantee your escape, the question you should ask is, "If I were to ask the other guard which door leads to freedom, what would they say?"
Let's consider the possibilities:
- If you ask the truthful guard, they will know that the lying guard would point to the incorrect door. Thus, the truthful guard will truthfully point to the door that leads to death.
- If you ask the lying guard, they will also know that the truthful guard would point to the correct door. However, since the lying guard always lies, they would falsely point to the door that leads to death.
In both scenarios, regardless of which guard you ask, they will both give you the same answer. So, you should choose the opposite of the door they indicate in their response. This way, even if one guard is lying, you will still be directed to the door that leads to freedom.

If you asked the truth-guard, the truth-guard would tell you that the liar-guard would point to the door that leads to death.
If you asked the liar-guard, the liar-guard would tell you that the truth-guard would point to the door that leads to death.
Therefore, no matter who you ask, the guards tell you which door leads to death, and therefore you can pick the other door.
