Puzzles & Challenges 90 Online
Jumper:

You are trapped in a room with two doors. One leads to freedom, while the other leads to certain death. In front of each door stands a guard. One guard always tells the truth, while the other always lies. You do not know which guard is which. You are allowed to ask only one question to one of the guards, but you cannot determine which guard to ask. What question should you ask to guarantee your escape?

You're correct.
You need to know who the liar is however, and you only get one question-

RTXfrshman:

ask if they love there family if they say yes then they are a liar because if they did they would not be at those doors.

i think you may be a little slow??

xXChudLord420Xx:

I'm literally quoting the post

that's stupid you can love your family while still working

RTXfrshman:

wait

RTXfrshman:

i get it

xXChudLord420Xx:

do you think all those wageslave 9-5 dads don't love their families?

RTXfrshman:

if one lies then the question is are you a lair

xXChudLord420Xx:

what?

xcoledd1:

lol

xcoledd1:

chud lord

xcoledd1:

u funny

RTXfrshman:

If you asked the truth-guard, the truth-guard would tell you that the liar-guard would point to the door that leads to death. If you asked the liar-guard, the liar-guard would tell you that the truth-guard would point to the door that leads to death. Therefore, no matter who you ask, the guards tell you which door leads to death, and therefore you can pick the other door.

RTXfrshman:

(:

HotPockets14:

I would ask the gaurd that tell the truth because you can ask him if hes gaurding the door that is freedom and when he says no you know or vice verse

RTXfrshman:

what do you have to say to this xXChudLord420Xx

RTXfrshman:

If you asked the truth-guard, the truth-guard would tell you that the liar-guard would point to the door that leads to death. If you asked the liar-guard, the liar-guard would tell you that the truth-guard would point to the door that leads to death. Therefore, no matter who you ask, the guards tell you which door leads to death, and therefore you can pick the other door.

xXChudLord420Xx:

okay so think of another solution

RTXfrshman:

this would be the best solution

xXChudLord420Xx:

how are you going to identify the liar and the truth teller though?

RTXfrshman:

don't need to

HotPockets14:

im confused and dont really care anymore

urlocalprettyygirl:

ask the liar which door is death. if he's really a liar like he says he is then he'll point you to the door to freedom

Jumper:

Literally everybody got it but Chudlord good job guys πŸ˜„
