BxrningEmber:

Well first off, try not to stress yourself out over it. Secondly, practice, practice, and practice! Also try your best, I'm sure you'll do great.

Depends, Is it a marching competition or like a concert/ensemble competition. Either PRACTICE AS YOU PERFORM I CANT STRESS IT ENOUGH PRACTICE AS U PERFORM. No matter what instrument you play, make sure you have your dynamics under control. Make sure your articulation isnt sloppy but also make sure that when you have slurred notes that they smoothly connect. Do breathing excersises. if ur a brass player blow raspberries to warm up your lips. drink water and dont be too nervous. Nervousness will mess u up. Good luck tho!!

No matter what instruments you play breath in slowly and out slow make sure urnhands are lose when not playing understand no one is perfect

There are several things you can do to prepare for a band competition: 1. Practice regularly: Make sure you and your bandmates practice together regularly in the weeks leading up to the competition. This will help you all to stay in sync and improve your overall performance. 2. Choose the right songs: Choose songs that showcase your strengths and are within your capabilities as a band. Consider the judging criteria and tailor your song choices accordingly. 3. Focus on your stage presence: It's not just about the music, but also about your stage presence. Make sure you look and act the part. Dress appropriately, engage with the audience and show your passion for the music. 4. Get feedback: Get feedback from your bandmates, music teachers or other trusted sources. They can help you identify areas that need improvement and provide constructive criticism. 5. Be prepared for anything: Be prepared for any unexpected technical difficulties or mishaps. Have backup plans in place and remain calm under pressure. Remember, the most important thing is to have fun and enjoy the experience. Good luck with your competition!

Confidence is key to everything in life l. If u talk yourself up, basically be a bit arrogant, act like ur the best at what u do and you'll become that. It's cheesy as heck but it's worked for me

Is this question relating to marching band? If it is, I have answers lol. (Coming from someone with two years of marching band experience.) So, to start, please bring deodorant. You will get sweaty. You will smell bad. Don't be that guy. BRING A WATER BOTTLE!!!! SCHOOLS MIGHT NOT HAVE CONCESSIONS OR ACCESSIBLE WATER FOUNTAINS AT THEIR COMPETITIONS! Bring band-aids. Oftentimes marching shoes aren't very comfortable, and may cause injuries to your ankles, or foot. If you make it to finals with sore feet, you will be sad. Bring sunscreen, sunburns suck. PLEASE BRING INSTRUMENT CARE PRODUCTS! They get gross after all the warmups and performances. Snacks, ones that won't get you sick. I recommend baby carrots lol. Get lots of sleep the night before, and don't eat ANYTHING DAIRY RELATED FOR BREAKFAST, OR LEADING UP TO THE COMPETITION!!! Eat a balanced breakfast. Please shower and wash all clothes beforehand, I know this is obvious, but you'd be surprised. Bring a portable phone charger with cord. You will want entertainment on long bus rides. Most importantly, be aware that you might not win. You might not even get to finals. But that doesn't take away from your ability to perform a long, and complex show. Don't whittle yourself down and praise yourself for your accomplishments during the competition. Having the discipline, determination, and skill to prepare for and compete in a competition often gets overlooked. It's a skill that will take you a long way. Good luck and have fun! (If it's your first time at a competition, feel free to dm me with any further questions on the general functioning and flow of a tournament.)
