what is best way to remember sine, cosine, and tangent? sohcahtoa doesnt help, it confuses me a ton.

ElAlejandro:

Representing them as letters

jhonyy9:

do you think on the rules of sin, cos, tan ? look ,what was my idea to remember logic on these rules for sin we know that the rule say opposite divide hypothenuse and for cos say adjacent divide hypothenuse i ve remember(ed) them sin is without ,,o" so for it is opposite cos is with ,,o" so for it is adjacent tan equal sin divide cos so tan with ,,n" has the sin with ,,n" too divide cose and cot we know that is 1/tan so 1/(sin/cos) so the sin/cos inversed so cos/sin hope these will help you remember them easy like me

toga:

One easy way to remember sine, cosine, and tangent is to use the acronym SOH-CAH-TOA. SOH stands for "Sine equals Opposite over Hypotenuse", CAH stands for "Cosine equals Adjacent over Hypotenuse", and TOA stands for "Tangent equals Opposite over Adjacent". So, if you remember the phrase "SOH-CAH-TOA", you can easily recall the formulas for sine, cosine, and tangent.

StrikerDeFreak:

Probably just remember it as sin, cos and tan

W advice

wio:

The best way to remember them is to draw a unit circle with a right triangle. I'll try attaching an immage.

wio:

Just remember the angle is in the center of the circle. Then cos is the x coordinate, sin is the y coordinate, and tan is just sin/cos.

Manny300303199:

An alternate way to remember the letters for Sin, Cos, and Tan is to memorize the syllables Oh, Ah, Oh-Ah (i.e. /oʊ ə ˈoʊ. ə/) for O/H, A/H, O/A. Longer mnemonics for these letters include "Oscar Has A Hold On Angie" and "Oscar Had A Heap of Apples."
