loook at this short story i wrote All I could do was run. As fast as I could. I knew there was no chance of escaping it, but I had to try. The Germans were ruthless. They would capture every single Jewish person in the world even if they had to die. And I was one.My family moved here eight years ago. So much for a new life. My name was Jackson Roberts. It was the 24th of August, 1940. I had seen the Junkers from a mile away. I warned my family but of course, they didn't care what the orphan said. So I ran. 5 minutes later, my town was destroyed. Gone, wiped from the face of the Earth. I didn’t care. They didn’t care about me either. Then I heard them. The Kubelwagens with the Swastika symbol. They were after me. I hid under some brush hoping they would just pass. But no, they had dogs. They sniffed out people. I knew I was caught. The Nazis had me in their King Kong grip. The dog was getting closer. I could almost smell its meaty breath. Then it left. I wiped a gallon of sweat off my forehead. I had to wait till the jeep passed. The plumes of smoke billowed out of the exhaust. I almost coughed, but I caught myself. Then I watched the red taillights slowly disappear into the fog. I got up, pricking my finger on a bush. I ran, again. Harder, faster. Now I could only feel the wind blow against my face and only could think of my true home, America. I had been on a boat with my family, and it sank. British sailors found the lone kid in the ocean and brought me back. I was taken in by the Macfarlanes. But I kept my name, Roberts. I lived in London, a big city. We lived in the lower economy section. Eight years later, this happened. “THUD!”, I face-planted into the ground. I rubbed my sore jaw. I got back up and looked around. Utter silence. Then an owl hooted. Then anti-aircraft guns. I laid down to rest. I quickly fell asleep due to all the running.I woke up to the sound of tanks. I knew if they were Panzers, or really any other tank, I would be dead. So I kept running. They would catch up but there was no point in giving up. I zigzagged between the trees, hoping that would throw them off my trail. But they couldn't even get through the trees. They were too wide. I was relieved a bit but still kept on running. I stopped after 10 yards or so. But I heard the soldiers. I climbed a tree and got behind the branches. They passed under me, aware of every movement and sound. I looked down at them. They were clad in all green with Karabiner 98s. They walked away waril
