ok SO i think i'm not positive i think the answer to yer question is a mutation on a parent's body cell

suger:

cuz cuz cuz When a mutation happens in a parent’s sex cell (sperm or egg), it can lead to a new trait in the offspring that neither parent has. This is because the mutation gets passed on to the child during reproduction. Mutations in other cells of the body won’t cause new traits in the offspring. Natural and artificial selection don’t directly cause new traits in individuals; they affect how traits are passed on in a population over time. (if dat makes any sense

suger:

hope that helped ^^

Midnight97:

I got it and also thank you
