Ok so on punnet squares how do u know to set up like G g G g Instead of G G g g ??
GG, Gg, gg, gG
im pretty sure
But like on some of them they want u to set it up like the first way and then the second way hold on
ok ok
Like I understand how to fill out the punnet square it’s just setting it up
When creating a Punnett square, you typically place the alleles for one parent along the top of the square and the alleles for the other parent along the left side of the square. Each box in the square represents a possible combination of alleles that their offspring could inherit. So, if a parent has the genotype GG (meaning they have two dominant alleles), and the other parent has the genotype gg (meaning they have two recessive alleles), you would set up the Punnett square like this: - Place one parent's alleles along the top: G G - Place the other parent's alleles along the left side: g - Fill in the boxes with possible combinations of alleles: | G | G | --|---|---| g | Gg| Gg| --|---|---| g | Gg| Gg| This would give you a 100% chance of offspring having the genotype Gg (heterozygous dominant). If one parent has the genotype Gg (heterozygous dominant) and the other has the genotype gg (homozygous recessive), you would set up the Punnett square like this: - Place one parent's alleles along the top: G g - Place the other parent's alleles along the left side: g - Fill in the boxes with possible combinations of alleles: | G | g | --|---|---| g | Gg| gg| --|---|---| g | Gg| gg| This would give you a 50% chance of offspring having the genotype Gg (heterozygous dominant) and a 50% chance of offspring having the genotype gg (homozygous recessive).
