I made a decently long story!! I think It came out nice and I like it. I went back in and changed ALOTTT of things and I felt like giving up because I had some trouble with it! I restarted. But I finished it. And I'm happy with how it came out! < 3

like a protective embrace. Oliver looked up and chuckled, watching the faint shimmer of light she gave off as her "arms" reached down towards him. "You're early," he said with a grin, tilting his head. "Couldn't wait, huh?" Astéri smiled, her orange glow deepening. "I could say the same about you, Oliver." She floated closer, leaning in to rest her chin on her hand. "You always seem to be in such a rush. Do all humans live their lives so hurriedly?" Oliver shrugged, leaning back on the bench. "Sometimes. Life's short for us, so we try to fit in as much as we can." He paused, glancing up at her shimmering form. "What about you? How do you spend your endless time?" Astéri tilted her head, her glowing eyes softening. "Watching. Drifting. Thinking. The universe is vast and full of wonders, but it's also... lonely." Her voice grew quieter as she spoke, her radiance dimming slightly. "Until I met you." Oliver's breath hitched. He opened his mouth to say something, but the words caught in his throat. Astéri noticed and chuckled softly. "Did I say something wrong?" "No, not at all," Oliver said quickly, shaking his head. "It's just... strange to hear that. I'm just one person, you know? A tiny speck in this massive universe, and yet..." He looked at her, his gaze steady. "Yet you noticed me." Astéri's cheeks glowed brighter, a blush spreading across her luminescent skin. "You were the first to look up at me and smile. Do you know how rare that is? For eons, I’ve watched humanity, but no one ever saw me. Not like you did." Oliver smiled, his eyes sparkling like the stars above. "Guess we were both feeling invisible, huh?" Astéri nodded, the space around her shimmering faintly as she moved closer. "Maybe that's why I feel so drawn to you. You're not just a light in the darkness, Oliver. You're... warm. Like the sun, but gentler." The two fell into a comfortable silence, the world around them fading away. The stars seemed to shine brighter, as if they were listening in on the pair's quiet conversation. "Astéri," Oliver began, his voice soft. "What would happen if... if you could come down here? Be human, even just for a little while?" Astéri's expression grew wistful, her glow dimming slightly. "I don't know. Stars aren't meant to touch the Earth. There's a balance to the universe, and breaking that could..." She hesitated, the faintest trace of sadness in her voice. "It could unravel everything." Oliver frowned. "But you're lonely up there. That doesn't seem fair." She smiled gently, her glowing hand reaching out as if to touch him. Though their fingers couldn’t meet, Oliver swore he felt a faint warmth where her light grazed his skin. "Fairness isn't something the universe promises, Oliver. But meeting you has made me realize something." "And what's that?" "Even in the vastness of space, with all its emptiness, a single light can make all the difference," she said, her voice filled with quiet determination. "You’ve reminded me of what it means to feel, to connect. For that, I’ll always be grateful." Oliver's heart ached at her words, the weight of her loneliness pressing against his chest. "Astéri, I wish there was something I could do. Something to make it better." She smiled, her glow intensifying. "You already have, Oliver. By seeing me, by talking to me... you've given me something I thought I’d lost forever." As the night deepened, the two continued their quiet conversation, their connection growing stronger with each passing moment. Though they were worlds apart, the bond between them shone brighter than any star in the sky. And as Oliver finally rose to leave, promising to return the next night, Astéri watched him go with a bittersweet smile. "Don't you understand?" she whispered to herself, her voice barely audible against the hum of the universe. "I can't... but I want to." The ancient rules hung heavy in her mind, a reminder of the boundaries she could never cross. But as she watched Oliver disappear into the night, a tiny spark of defiance ignited within her. Maybe, just maybe, the universe could bend—for love, for connection, for hope. Astéri turned her gaze to the stars above, her light burning a little brighter. For the first time in eons, she dared to dream.
