how do I do scientific notation ? I'm actually clueless -_-
so basically the number you're doing it for move the decimal either left or right until the decimal is in the spot that leaves you with a number wit the correct amount of sig figs then however much u moved it is however much u put in the exponent and positive or negative exponents depends on which way u moved it
i think...
LIKE say 460000
itd be like \[460000\rightarrow4.6\times10^4\]
idek dude actually you should probably not listen to me cuz ik how to do it just not explain it :3
i hope you find someone to explain it better sorry :c
AHHH
Basically how scientific notation is, is multiplying a number by 10 to a power, so that the decimal places are "shifted". Let's take a power of 5, for example. \(3.1415926\ \times\ 10^{5}\) This, when converted, shifts the decimal place to the \(right\) 5 numbers. \(3.1415926\ \times\ 10^{5}\ \rightarrow\ 3\color{red}{14159.}26\) Same goes for negative powers, except they shift to the \(left\) n numbers. Examples: \(3.1415926\ \times\ 10^{3}\ \ \ \rightarrow\ 3\color{red}{141.}5926\) \(3.1415926\ \times\ 10^{2}\ \ \ \rightarrow\ 3\color{red}{14.}15926\) \(3.1415926\ \times\ 10^{-2}\ \rightarrow\ \color{red}{0.0}31415926\) \(3.1415926\ \times\ 10^{-3}\ \rightarrow\ \color{red}{0.00}31415926\)
thx
