girlypop:

when doing a chemical equation how do u know when to multiply?

jmweeden:

When balancing chemical equations, you multiply coefficients (numbers in front of formulas) to ensure the number of atoms of each element is equal on both sides of the equation, but never the subscripts (numbers within formulas).

Spectrum:

Basically never multiply the little tiny numbers beside/under the bigger stuff.
