OpenStudy (julie):

The distance of the sun to the earth is 150,000 kilometers. the speed of light is 460,000 km./sec. How long it take for light to travel?

OpenStudy (sid1729):

Hey Julie, the time taken is calculated by the equation time = distance/speed. So you can divide 150,000km by 460,000 km/sec to get the answer

OpenStudy (ashwinram):

$$\prod_{?}^{?}$$

OpenStudy (sandra):

very cool!

OpenStudy (sandra):

nice answer sid =) not too much, not too little.

OpenStudy (julie):

thanks all!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The distance from earth to sun is 93,000,000 miles, and a km is less than a mile. I think we should revisit the original problem!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8 minutes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There's something wrong with the original problem. The speed of light is 299,792 km/sec. If a textbook said 460,000 then it is *wrong*. This would change the answer...
