Need help with Graphing linear equations. Studying for test tomorrow. Fail Pre test.

1. Get equation into y = mx + b form, if it's not already. 2. On the y-axis, locate b. Put a dot there. 3. Put m into the form of a fraction (if it's not already). Call it p/q. From the dot on the y-axis, go up p units (down if p is negative) and to the right q units (left if q is negative. Repeat several times. 4. Connect the dots with a straight line. Example: 8x + 4y = 12. 1. Solve for y to get y = -2x + 3. I'm assuming you can do that if you need to. 2. Go to the y-axis and put a dot on 3. 3. m = -2. Make it a fraction: -2/1. From the dot on 3, go up -2 (down 2) and to the right 1. Repeat down 2, right 1 several times. 4. Connect with a straight line.
