Can someone help create a linear equation about something in my personal life?

There are actually a variety of things you could use.

For example, take driving for example. Let's say you fill your car from empty with 12 gallons of gasoline, and it will drive 276 miles exactly . Then you have a point right there (12, 276). So what is the miles per gallon? In this case, 23 miles per gallon. 23 will actually be the slope. Therefore, an equation to represent how many miles per gallon my car can use will look like this (assuming I drive it through the same conditions every time):
y=23x
where y is the number of total miles, 23 is the mpg, and x is the number of gallons (the reason why there is no +b is because if I have 0 gallons in my car it will not move, therefore it will not travel at all).
Can you think of a situation where something will affect the outcome of something else?
