f(y)=sqrt(7y)-sin(1+cosy)... need the derivitive of this one and i dont know where im going wrong any help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey, how's it going?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey can you help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure, where are you getting stuck?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i need to find the deriv. of that function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know to do the chain rule for the second term.. what about the first term

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sqrt means exponent is 1/2, so the first term is (7y)^1/2, can you do the deriv from there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya i got (7/2)y^(-1/2)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isnt there a chain rule applied to that term though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nevermind i figured it out.. thanks any
