summarize the pertinent information obtained by applying the graphing strategy and sketch the graph of y=f(x) f(x)=(x-2)(x^2-4X-8)
Is this precal work? In any event go ahead and expand the equation out to get your x^3 polynomial. That will tell you the general shape of the equation. If you solve for zeroes in x and y, that will tell you where the function crosses each axis. THen you can start subing in realistic values in the equation in between your zero values to see how the function behaves and plotting those points. It really sucks to be honest, because once you get to Calculus, it becomes really easy to find what you're looking for and you'll wonder why they had you do all of that work, but it truly does take more learning. Remember that the function (from left to right) goes up, then goes down, and then goes back up again. If you work around those zero values on the left and right sides of them then you can get a general idea of where the function changes direction. Plotting points is the graphing strategy, so have fun.
