what is hall effect?
its the phenomena in which when an electric field is applied and to oppose it within a metal another induced electric field is created...within itself...which obviously creates an induced voltage. it happens because the free charges experirnce a force due to the external field
when we apply magnetic and electric field perpendicular to each other then potential difference is developed across other two perpendicular ends of the crystal this phenomenon is known as hall effect
A fun fact about the Hall effect is that it doesn't allow analogies that positive charges flowing in one directions is the same as observing negative charges flowing in the opposite direction. If you observe those two situations through a wire in a magnetic field, the resultant created electric field created in a wire (due to the Hall effect) will be different. :)
