Solve the inequality (x+1)(x-3)(x+9)^2 <= 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use FOIL method , expand the last one and use FOIL method again? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

give it a try ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol what? y expand it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to factor to solve inequalities , in fact in the form it is now you can get the solution in like 30seconds

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, don't you want to sovle for x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeh, can be done in 30 seconds , just its very hard to explain if the asker isnt familiar with how to graph equations with double and triple roots

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im actually trying to solve for the Domain I suppose. The answer should look something like (-infinity, -9) U (3, infinity) and so on (just an example answer)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answer is x=-9 and the interval -1<=x<=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont like set notation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol, you amaze me at times :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you deserve a medal LOL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you solve inequalities sstarica? , cause if you are doing it another way then you are wasting alot of time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm, I'm note sure. I don't have one way, I have many. Depends on the question :)
