evaluate the indefinite integral. square root of x^19 times sin(4+x^21/2)dx
Are you taking the root of the whole function or just x^19?
just x^19
This ones a beast??? integral sqrt(x^19) sin(4+x^21/2) dx = (2 sqrt(pi) sqrt(x^19) (sin(4) C(x^(21/2)/sqrt(pi))+cos(4) S(x^(21/2)/sqrt(pi))))/(21 x^(19/2))+constant
what does the c and s mean?
They are called Fresnel integrals, said it was a beast to solve, I gather you've not come across them?
no, i havent learned about them yet
i dont understand where pi came in though, can you explain to me if you have the time?
This is a difficult function to integrate, the pi value is a property of the Fresnel integral process? Ther is another method using erf??
i got the answer, i understand now. thank you for your help :)
