Volume of the attached figure? help would be amazing!!<3
\[Vrec = (length)\times(width)\times(height)\]\[Vsquaqre pyram = {((lenght)^{2} \times height) \over 3} \] Vtotal = Vrec + Vsquarepyram
ops, typo, not a square base, rectangular base: instead of (lenght)^2 should be (length)*(width)
25,225.2 cubic feet
Okay so I did 40*22*18=15,840 and then 40*22*18 ----------
___________ and I got 21,120 did i do something wrong? how did you come up with 3 that answer?
what is the height of the pyramid ?
its not a pyramid...its a triangular prism
yeah its a triangular prism and i don't know the height because its not listed
triangula prim.. pyramid ... same thing lol .. jk..
it's not the same thing
annd back to the problem how did you get your answer?
i know it's not.. i'm jk.. it's also another formula, sorry.
½ * a * b * h = Ah (area of the triangle)*(lenght of the prim / height of the prim)
no problem, its the same idea however the formulas are different
how do I find the area of the triangle if I don't have the height?
very good question use pythagorean theorem
to find the volume of the triangular prism, you need the area of the triangle. In order to find the area of the triangle we need the height. We can find it by: |\ x | \ 24 | \ |___\ (22/2) = 11 so 24^2 = x^2 + 11^2 x=21.3307
now that we found the height of the triangle we can find the volume of the triangular prims and add to the volume of the rect. prism. to get the total volume
oh okay I just forgot that we had the base. So i did 21.3307*22 all over 2 and I got 234.6377. then I did (234.6377)*(40)*(18)=169,939....is that wrong?
hi math mind can u help me after her
yup, i'll try suger.
okay so what did I do wrong?
thank you for the medal awsomness
haha no prob i give everyone a medal xD
alright so, Volume of Trian. prism = (.5)(22)(21.3307)(40) = 9385.51 Volume of Rect. prism = 22*18*40 = 15840 Total Volume = 9385.51 + 15840 = 25225.5
Thanks so much I saw what I did wrong!
