Which is the correct construction from below: -Price for the Product 123 HAS been updated. -Price for the Product 123 HAVE been updated.
I presume '123' is one product, so the first one applies.
I think the answer is the first one.
First one is the right answer .. has comes with singular. let us it it in this way.. has/ have is going signify 'what' is updated...here that 'what' is price which is singular so has is used
THE ANSWER I BELIEVE ZEERAK IS THE FIRST SENTENCE CAUSE U HAVE TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION OF THE SINGULARITY OF THE NOUN "PRICE", SO IT REQUIRES, I BELEIVE, A SINGULAR VERB...I HOPE I HELPED
Price for the Product 123 HAS been updated.
Umm.. so is it that HAS comes with singular subjects, and HAVE with plural?
Can someone clarify me where do we use Has and where Have?
and yeah 123 is just a single product
example: 1. He HAS appeared for exams. They HAVE appeared for exams. Mostly HAS is used with singular, and HAVE with plural. However, care has to be taken with 'collective nouns' like crowd, fleet, army, mob, herd, organization, which represent a group of people or objects. Consider the example: 2. Crowd HAS no face. - HAS is used here because the crowd is considered a single entity rather than discrete individuals.
In the sentence, 'Price of the product 123 HAS been updated', TREYJIBADE rightly pointed out that the singularity of "Price" has to be taken into consideration irrespective of whatever number of products there were because "price" is the subject of this sentence, not the products.
