how many moles are in 50g of NaCl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The atomic weight of sodium, given in the periodic table is 22.990 gram, and of chlorine is 35.453 gram. The molecular weight of sodium chloride is, therefore: Mw(NaCl) = 22.990 + 35.453 = 58.443 gram. So ONE mole of NaCL is 58.443 Divide to get .855 moles of NaCL = 50 grams
