i need help on a couople of questions..... find the slope of these lines. y=2x+7 y=7 x=-4 2x+y=15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Try to convert each equation to the form y = m⋅x + c, then m is the slope. When there is no x, the slope is 0 and when there is no y the slope is ∞.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. radq is right. y = m⋅x + c where m-number and c-number. therefore in y=2x+7 (which is as i understand a tangent line) slope=2. When you have 2x+y=15 you need to arrange it: y=-2x+15. Therefore slope=-2.

You have x=-4 and y=7 what is has to do with the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope of y=7 is 0. slope of x=-4 is 0 as well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually to understand why it is so -you must understand the concept of slope. slope-it is speed of the curve. how fast it is increasing/decreasing. y=7 is a straight line. it has no speed as it does not increase/decrease. same with x=-4. y=2x+7-draw it. you will see that it goes up. means increasing.

hmmm-in a case of x it is undefined.

x=-4 i mean
