5b^2-15b=0 Am I suppose to factor first?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, then you have to apply zero property to get the values for b. since this is a quadratic equation, you'll have two answers. what you do is, factor b. b(5b - 15) = 0 apply zero property. b = 0 5b - 15 = 0 --> 5b = 15 --> b = 3 final answer: b = 3 b = 0

so I divide 5b=15 divide each side by 5? I am studying for final on monday, so thanks sooo much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeap. you divide both sides by 5 to get b only. good luck on your exam.
