Create your own third degree polynomial that when divided by x + 2 has a remainder of –4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We know that x = -2 isn't a solution since it has a remainder (The factor theorem). We need to replace the "some expression" with a quadratic of some form so that when we multiply by (x+2) we get a x^3 term. \[f(x)=some expression + {-4 \over {x+2}}\] OK?
