hey guys! I am desperate!! Need help with slope pleasssseee!!!!!
why don't u write ur q?
Not sure of your question. Slope equals change in y divided by change in x. For example, if you have two points (x0, y0) and (x1, y1), you can calculate the slope of the line between them with (y1-y0) / (x1-x0). There is also the classic equation of a line "y = mx + b", where "m" equals slope and "b" equals y-intercept.
good answer :)
It is applications of slope. Such as 5 pages in one hour and put the slope on the graph. I don't know which one is y and which one should be x
Depends on how they express the statement. Like if they say "5 pages in one hour" they're expressing units of "pages per hour" or "pg/hr". Since slope is change in y over change in x, and they want pages over hours for slope, I'd say pages are y and hours are x. Plus time is almost always on the x axis so you can express rates per time.
But if they wanted to plot minutes per page (like how long it takes you to read a page), then maybe you'd put minutes on the y axis and pages on the x axis. This is not common.
How do I know though...Ex. Grocery store is having a sale on potatoes. 5lbs for $4?
I have spent half a day to try to solve and make sense out of this and I am stuck!
depends on if they want pounds per dollar or dollars per pound. Slope would be 5/4 pounds per dollar or 4/5 dollars per pound.
generally they say "y FOR x" or "y IN x".
I LOVE YOU!!!!! You are a GENIUSSSS! You just don't know how much you have helped me!!!
How can I get a hold of you again? You just saved my life!!
Thank you! :-D
You could email me at my same username at gmail. Or I'm on here from time to time.
