in a exponential function what is the varible?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it depends what kind of your exponential function is? kind of exponetial function may be:-> (1) (constant)^variable ......in this case your variable is in the index term.. (2) (variable )^ variable....in this case your base and index both varies.. don't think exponetial function means only (e)^something....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exp(u) is the exponential function, at least that's my understanding.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i hve a question asking me....how do exponential functions differ from regular functions? and my options are a.always negative b.represeting the base c.representing the power and d.always t...which 1 do u think is right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exponetial fuctions are always positive...because it is (a)^x if you took strictly where a>0 so you never have negative values....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so a...b......c..or d?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah the variable is just the letters being used to sudstitute for numbers you dont know or that you have to find out.
