I am confused on session four on readings and example. What does a unit vector mean? Does it mean it is equal to one, if so why does it say in the reading and examples page that Vector U = B/[B]? I am confused with the concept.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A unit vector is a vector with direction, and a magnitude of one. When you multiple or divide a unit vector by a scalar quantity, the scalar now turns into a vector with the magnitude of the scalar, and the direction of the unit vector.

it is very easy, for example the vector <1,2,3> has length \[\sqrt{14}\]. if you want found unit vector just do it. <1/sqrt{14} ,2/sqrt{14},3/sqrt{14} >. so what does it mean?. just meat that the unit vector has length one. you verified this. you know after we use the formula for compute the length is one. you compute it.
