how do find the x-intercept of a line using just 2 points given?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The equation of a line is: y=mx+c m and c are unknown, so you have to find them before finding the x-intercept. To find m(slope), substitute for x and y using the two points and get two equations. Solve them and you'll get m. Now that you have m, using one of the points, substitute the values of x,y and m in the equation, and you get c. Finally, rewrite the equation with the values that you've found for m and c, put y=0, and the value of x that you get is your x-intercept. .. If you could post a sum, I could solve it and show you
