any body know how to do work negative and postive numbers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have a specific issue you need help with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea I could help ya

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes for example -53+-67=

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would i go about solving that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since they are both negative then you treat them both as regular numbers but keep the sum as a negative. So the answer is -120

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you had 53+-67 that is very different... that answer would be -14. Just picture the numbers sliding up or down the number line. So if you started at 53 on the positive side of the scale, you would slide down (to the left) 67 spots and end up at -14... make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok wat about this -0+-0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

serious? zero is zero is zero... don't let the negative signs mess you up so much. Like I said, picture... or better yet... DRAW a number line. If you have zero and you are moving zero spaces, then you are still at zero... right?

ok i didnt thx
