m= 25 on my last question?
\begin{array}l\color{red}{\normalsize\text{?}}\color{orange}{\normalsize\text{?}}\color{#9c9a2e}{\normalsize\text{ }}\color{green}{\normalsize\text{w}}\color{blue}{\normalsize\text{h}}\color{purple}{\normalsize\text{a}}\color{purple}{\normalsize\text{t}}\color{red}{\normalsize\text{ }}\color{orange}{\normalsize\text{?}}\color{#9c9a2e}{\normalsize\text{?}}\color{green}{\normalsize\text{}}\end{array}
plz write the full question honey ......
3(25-m)
m = 25?
m can be anything it wants to be; there is no equal sign to force it into submission
3(25-m)=0 75-3m=0 m=-75\-3 m=25
thank u croc i always depend on u
u are welcome

crock gets carnac award for today
oh i smell competetion
raw leave my man alone
next -3/4 (8-b)
if croc can get you to the right answers ... by all means :)
is it right??
ok heres another -3/4(8-b)
if the question is: what makes this equal zero, then id say when b = 8 .... but i got know clue as to what your trying to accomplish
apply the appropriate prperty to simplify
property*
ohh .... distribute would seem appropriate then :) -3(8)/4 -(-3(b)/4) = -6 +3b/4
amistre is correct
same applys 3(25-m)
75-3m
25 -m 3 ------ 75 -3m
same applys 3+(25-m)
rosanne it really helps to not only write the expression but also the instructions. if the expression has no equal sign, there is no "solving" just multiplying or combining like terms or something of that sort.
so for example \[3(25-m)=75-3m\] but also \[75-3m=3(25-m)\]
it sais apply the approate property and siplify
well that is not your fault, but go ask your math teacher why \[75-3m\] is "simpler" than \[3(25-m)\] but if it says multiply then you have it. but you cannot then say m = something
why am I having hard time getting this???
because the instructions stink. what they should say is "remove the parentheses using the distributive law"
which says that \[a(b+c)=ab+ac\]
so if you see \[3(25-m)\] you rewrite as \[3\times 25 + 3\times -m\]
which gives \[75-3m\]
I have some more different instructions apply*identify the coefficients for each term-5ato the third power - 2 a
\[-5a^3-2a\]?
wow yeas thats it
the coefficients are the numbers in front of the variables. the first coefficient is -5, the second one is -2
cool now u helped me get that
for example if i write \[2x^3-x^2+4x-6\] the coefficients in order are 2 -1 4 -6
what about p-q
don't forget the "-" sign comes with the coefficient.
are you asked for the coefficients of each term?
if so the coefficients of \[p-q\] are 1 and -1 respectively
you visualize as \[p-q=1\times p-1\times q\]
sorry satellite 6 is not coefficient
?? i never wrote 6 did i?
6g-16h-2 so it would be 6,16,-2
careful here. the minus sign comes with it
\[6g-16h-2\] coefficients are 6, -16, -2
ok i get that
don't forget the minus sign. the term \[-16h\] has coefficients -16
combine like terms 4x +21x
-2 not coefficient it is constant
25x
ok you think like this: 4 something plus 21 something is 4+21 something
you do not need to write a step, just do it in your head. as long as the variable is the same and the exponent is the same just add them up.
\[3x+8x=11x\] \[5y-7y=-2y\]
25x?
yes because 4 + 21 = 25
remember x is a variable, it could be any number. so if it was for example 10 then you would have \[4\times 10 + 21\times 10 = 25\times 10\]
would i write 25x?
yes
x is not number be careful
wahat about this one? 13t to the second power-tto the second power + 4
\[13t^2-4t^2+4\]? if so you get \[9t^2+4\]
because 13-4=9
no on the 4t just t to the second no 4
oh so it is \[13t^2-t^2+4\]?
in which case you will have \[12t^2+4\] since 13-1=12
what you are doing is adding or subtracting the coefficients of the "like terms"
so 13-1=12
yes
thanx
i want to help you any time
help me........ hey where do you live how old r u? maybe we can do over phone
