why is installing anti virus so necessary ? and do formating pc often cause problems to hard disk ?
installing anti virus is necessary so no virus can enter your computer, BUT you need to keep your anti virus updated to detect new viruses. formating pc can't cause problems to hard disk, in fact it's healthy for your hard disk since you're cleaning it.
installing of antivirus detects and cleans away the virus that is present on system and virus that can enter through usb devices like pendrives etc...without antivirus your system will beome slow ....day by day...........having antivirus which is latest updated is necessary........repeated formating of pc causes problems to harddisk ....rarely u can do format no problem...............
Hello!!! The antivirus is needed to protect your computer from malicious attacks from the Internet, also infected devices that can infect your computer, etc.. With a good antivirus-wise, you can often avoid formatting the computer, for reasons of errors in the systems affected by the virus. In my research on the internet and friends, I know that formatting the hard drive cause problems smoothly. If I remember correctly, it will run slower.
Technically, you don't need to install an anti-virus. The reality is that many anti-virus packages come with all kinds of additional anti-malware and BHO (browser helper objects) that aim to prevent you from ever picking up a virus in the first place. The job of a standalone anti-virus however is to scan your system and remove viruses which are already there. To be honest, if you're careful online and use a few good plugins (like noscript) in your browser you may never need an anti-virus. However, this doesn't really apply to most people as they will generally encounter a virus at some point by doing something they shouldn't have (like downloading a malicious exe from some dubious website). Contrary to what others have said, an anti-virus will actually significantly slow down your PC. This is because it runs in the background all the time, scanning every file you open (or download, or may be thinking about opening) using heuristic scanning algorithms to try and detect if the file has any malicious code in it. This takes quite a bit of CPU time. The only occasion where an anti-virus can actually speed up your PC is if you already had a virus that was causing problems (though, a 'good' virus won't slow down your PC - the stuff that generally does is mal/spam/ad/ware that basically amounts to nothing more than junk software), but even then, your PC can only run at a limited speed due the extra load running a 24/7 anti-virus puts on it. In short, it's the price we pay for peace of mind. If you really know what you're doing you don't need one - and on a slightly different note i'd make the suggestion that these days you could go entirely without one if you replaced it with noscript, adblock, and a spyware scanner like spybot. Generally though, most people still tend to keep one around just in case. Regarding hard drives, you won't experience any slow downs from reformatting, unless you do it A LOT. In most cases, such as when using Windows software, a fresh install will noticeably speed up your PC if it hasn't been reformatted for some time (as it clears out all the deadwood software and registry keys and gives you a clean slate).
