How do I find the tangent line on point on circle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

From the equation of a circle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so you can work out the equation of the normal to a point on the circle because you know it goes through the centre and the point. The tangent is perpendicular to this so its gradient is the negative reciprocal of the normal gradient. Then you can work out the equation from that.

I've never received an answer like that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do you mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fyi, gradient = slope
