I am doing integrals and problems that include displacement and distance, i know that i have to find were the x is so i can split my intervals. How would i find the x in this t^2-t-8, intervals (1,6)

The intersection? Is that what you mean by x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the x intercept

i think you are mixing variables... t^2 - 7t-8 has a "t" as a variable... would you agree? what you are posting in your problem should look like this: \[\int\limits_{1 }^{6}(t ^{2}-t-8)dt=....\]
