If there are 4 owners of a company who own the following: 32%, 32%, 32% and 4% ---- and one of the 32% owners dies how much of his 32% do all the others get proportionately

OpenStudy (amistre64):

id assume it is split 3 ways; 32/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it has to be proportionate to original ownership

OpenStudy (amistre64):

then times each one by the proportion they own ... right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried that but then the whole isn't 100% I'm stumped

OpenStudy (amistre64):

thats why i assumed there was a 32/3 split among them; still think that plays into it tho :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

100 - 32 = 68. the 68% is now the 100%; how much of the company at 68% is owned by each?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well originally there were 32% 32% and 4%

OpenStudy (amistre64):

32/68 32/68 4/68 are how much?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL you lost me

OpenStudy (amistre64):

multiply those new proportions to the 32 that is hanging in the breeze

OpenStudy (amistre64):

3 people now own 68 shares of the company; the new ratios are: 32 out of 68 32 out of 68 4 out of 68 now divvy up the 32 that the dead guy has among them right?
