Reduce to lowest terms. 4x^4y^3/-8x^2y

well you can reduce the x's, so since you are dividing the overall problem, you subtract the exponents. So you are left with 4x^2y^3/-8y. Then do the same for y and you get 4x^2y^2/-8 Then reduce the fraction 4/-8 to 1/-2 or -1/2 and you have -1x^2y^2/2

\[-\frac{1}{2} x^2 y^4 \]
