A data set of size 19 has correlation coefficient of r = –0.432. Test the significance of r at the 5% level and at the 1% level
this one lol
correlation coefficients .. havent done that in my stats class yet ... so id have to look it up
thanks, this is a tough one
do we have any options for it?
with a size of 19: a = .05 gets us .456 as a critical value a = .01 gets us .575 as a critical value
-.432 is inside of the critical region .. but how that applies i aint got a clue :)
r is significant at 5% and at 1%. r is significant at 5%, but not at 1%. r is is not significant at 5% or at 1%.
i can find it; but i got no idea how to determine if its significant or not; do you recall what makes it significant?
at 5% we get <.......-2.11.......r=-1.97.............+2.11.......> or <.......-.456.......r=-.432............. +.456.........>
at 1% the intervals get larger so its still between the values...
so it would be r is significant at 5% and at 1%
from what I can tell; its in the "fail to reject" region :)
thanks
youre welcome :)
