programing languages good ones to start at?
lol
i want to start programing but want to figure whats the best way to start learning for small apps and maybe small games at this moment
Java is a very good one to begin :) i started learning that, and now i know over 10 :D
For that matter, Python is also a good one to begin
so where do i start then do i get some kind of book or is there a program or best bet is classes?
For java, i just learned it online, i dont like books :D, just look on YouTube for tutorials, but get high quality ones
by high quality, i mean you need to get tutorials that arent annoying or low quality or stuff like that
and then how do i practice the stuff that im learning ? is there something like that out there on the infinite space of internet?
the best program i feel is eclipse, just download the classic version. That is Eclipse Classic, just program in there
okay awesome and youtube just probably search java beginers tutorial? and mimic the things practiced there?
yep, let me find some good ones for you
wow, i have been on this site for 1 minute and i already have 100xp :D anyway, here is a good tutorial, just watch all 87 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hl-zzrqQoSE
oh, here is the playlist http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hl-zzrqQoSE&playnext=1&list=SPFE2CE09D83EE3E28
try Java or Python
haha...woww thank you so muchh!!! this is probably the hardest thing to really search on and ask questions about and that info helps a lot.
no problem :D
You may want to take a look at Stanford's Open Courseware Programming Methodology, CS106A course http://see.stanford.edu
read that site, it is a bit annoying if you dont have any experience
It really depends in what you want to be. If you have 0 experience first learn a scripting language like javascript that will give you an introduction, and then you could learn PHP, Actionscript, C++, or python depending what you want to understand
Turing, Squeak and BASIC are my suggestions Pascal can work too, HTML, PHP, and JAVA are a must.

C# and VB using the .NET platform
I started with Java. It's simple, but not as easy as Python.
Python for programming languages, and you can start with HTML, CSS & PHP as they are 100% necessary, and far more easy (although they 're for websites, not software).
