is this correct??

In a 9 inch square cake pan and a 10 inch square cake pan, what is the difference in volume each pan will hold? Assume each pan is 2.5 inches high. Show step by step work. Include correct units with your solution.

Both pans have the same height, so for starters it suffices to find the difference of their area. If one pan is 9x9, and the other is 10x10, then their areas are 9*9 = 81 10*10 = 100 100-81 = 19. Now multiply the difference in area by the height, which is 2.5 and you get the difference in their volume 19*2.5 = 47.5 in³
