what are ordered pairs?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

an ordered pair is (x,y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah, so if i have a mark on (-3,0) and (5,0) and it arcs to (1,16) on the y-axis, the x intercepts would be (-3,0) and (5,0) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

saweet.. what are the zeros of functions x=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

zeros are the places where x= 0 ie. -3 and 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its -3, 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sweet, i only have 2 more and im done!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what math are you in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im taking college algebra for the second semester.. :S online summer course now though, i don't see how in the world i placed out of intermediate algebra! :S

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually the zeros of a function are values of x where the function is 0, not where x is 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Although -3 and 5 are the zeros of the function.. but x doesn't equal 0 at those points, x equals -3 and 5 at those points. the y value is 0.
