Not a question so much as a suggestion. I propose either some regulation/moderation of questions, or distinct boards for people that want concepts and methods actively explained to them as opposed to people that want answers. The people who want to spam this site with their test/homework questions should be given there own space; so as not to discourage conceptual "answerers " from doing rote math for a few questions and bailing on the site. That being said, I never give suggestions on comment boards and only do so because I really like the site. Keep up the good work.

there is a category called openstudy feedback where this would be better suited but you can mark a question as Report abuse and there are some moderators that monitor from time to time

Where are you viewing this? I posted this in OpenStudy Feedback.

I concur DoinHomework, with both, your suggestion and your compliment to the site.

I concur with DoinHomework and pablobw.

What do you think about some way to rate questions - i.e. thought provoking vs. leeching etc.. - and let the social capital and/or stigma do it's work?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that sounds nice...!

OpenStudy (chris):

Hmm, also what do you think about rating different qualities of answer? i.e. right now we have a single medal given with "Good Answer", how about distinguishing between "Answer of the day", "Great Explanation", and "Good Answer/Correct" - i.e. Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals worth different point values that encourage better teaching and not just "the answer"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that sounds really good... it would really encourage more complete answers and teaching...! i don't like the ansewr of the day thing... but the gold-silver-bronze sounds good... Also there should be a way to ask the people who ask the questions to evaluate the answers, because a los of askers don't do that...

OpenStudy (chris):

right. good suggestion.
