Encounters And then, after six years, she saw him again. Him, or rather it, the bear she had been hunting down for so many years already. His looks had not changed much. He got a bit chubby, she thought. But over the long hours of tracking down and hunting him, her anger had not eased in any way. The hatred and eagerness to put a bullet through his thick brown fur had become as great as never before. It was an obsession, she dreamt about killing him almost every night. Many bullets, she thought. The odd thing about their encounter in the deep forest was probably that the bear glared at her with a rather nice look, almost as if he had been planning to find her and talk things out. Just the thought of letting that ugly, dreadful animal live only a few moments longer felt like a sin to her. She promptly got a hold of her .14 caliber semi-automatic rifle and held it up to her elbow. She aimed, without the slightest thing close to a second thought and put her finger on the trigger. Rather slowly, almost like in slow motion, she started moving her finger towards her body. “Now you will pay for all that pain you have caused us. All of us have to take that bit of responsibility eventually.” Ready to fire, she got aware of what was really happening and why it had all seemed so odd. i don't get this... what happened?... why had it all seemed so odd?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The odd thing is probably that she now realizes that she is feeling such hate for a bear. A mere animal, who does not have a contentious. I think at least ^-^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree, maybe because she realized she was talking to a bear in the first place. Or that she was blaming a bear for something, expecting it to take responsibility for it's actions.
