OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's a little odd, these are sets, not functions...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fog = {(1,0),(2,10)} gof = {(2,-7)}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Evern can u show step by step?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure, think of the function like a program ... input of a sort gives ou a certain out put. So,we look at the first function all possible outputs -7,1,2 (each has a corresponding input) from f.These form the basis for the input of g. but -7 does not exits as input in g.therefore that cannot be part of the net function.1 and 2 on the other hand have different associated outputs in the case of g ..which gives us the net gof output. Sorry: i htink i mixed up the the labels for the answer i.e. gof <-> fog

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fog = {(2,-7)} gof = {(1,0),(2,10)} ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes,you got it the variables always go through the function on the right first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is correct? fog = {(2,-7)} gof = {(1,0),(2,10)} ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u help me one more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure, but you have to show how you've tried it first before i do anything

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will send you my work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fog= I'm not sure gof= doesn't exit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fog={(3.-3),(2,-3)}?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that a -3 in g

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

g -2nd term...where'd you go?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the set o g is {(1,0),(-3,1),(2,1)}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on the picture gof= 1 0 domain of f 1 -3 range f, domain g 0 1 1 range g

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fog ={(1,-3),(3,1)(2,1),} which is a function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why not -3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fog = 1 3 2 domain of g 0 1 1 range g, domain f 1 -3 range f why not -3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahhh...you've accidently written 3 on the left hand side fog column

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes fog = 1 -3 2 domain of g 0 1 1 range g, domain f 1 -3 range f than, I think only {(2,1)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why both 2 and 3 produce the same output

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 and -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fog =(2,-3)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

valid inputs for fog 1->0->-3 , 2->1->1 ,-3 ->1 ->1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oK, ty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how gof ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

gof= 1 0 domain of f 1 -3 range f, domain g 0 1 1 range g

OpenStudy (anonymous):

gof={(1,0),(0,1)}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your welcome...what grade are you in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*you're

OpenStudy (anonymous):

algebra 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the 11th or 12th

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12th, r u teacher?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no...i.m a student myself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u r smart , bye

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks ,see you if you have any more questions fb me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, I will
