descride the habitats of archaebacteria
archea are organisms which compose a living kingdom from themselves. they are morphologically similar to bacteria but they share some metabolic pathways with eukarya. the habitats they live in are hot ponds which can reach temperatures above 100°C or salt lakes and ponds where no other organisms can survive. some of them are found in vulcanic areas, others in other extreme environments. the composition of their outer wall has adapted for survival in these conditions and the metabolic processes have also done so. therefore they live in unique ecological niches. some of them are capable of photosyntesis, which is, it must be said, slightly different from the photosynthesis done by eukarya. some of them are methanogens, which means that they procuce methane as a side product of their metabolism. some archea of this latter type are also found in human intestines as part of our microbiome.
