((X)(y)^(1/4))/((16x^-4*y8)^(1/4))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is y^8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This seems easy, remember when powers multiply they add up, and when you have to divide same varaibles with different powers, they subtract. Now can you solve?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And if you have a power raised to a power only then the powers get multiplied.. you must be able to solve now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No can u solve because the answer i got is 16x^2*y^(7/4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The denominator goes like this\[(16x ^{-4}y ^{8})^{1/4}=16^{1/4}x ^{-4/4}y ^{8/4}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what does the denominator give you?
