How to combine like binomials with different exponents? For example, in this problem: ((1/3)(3x-7)^((1/2)))+(2/9)(3x-7)^(-(3/2)) Or just for something simpler like 5(x+1)^(1/5)+(x+1)^(-5)

I ll give solution for simpler one :D, remove x+1 power 1/5 out, Now you need to know the powr of the other term so subtract -5-1/5

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you can try to manipulate it into common exponents ...
