1/2 + (2/3 ÷3/4)-(4/5x5/6)= and please explain how you got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you mean explain. The instructions are there, in the first bracket divide, second bracket multiply, etc

i haven't had a math class in years i don't even remember the basic things of adding and subtracting mult, divi, fractions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're a little over-dramatic. Don't know the basics of adding.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok if you are not going to help me that's all you had to say no need for insults or harsh come-backs but thanks for your help.

Everyone is here because they love to help, but if you say you can't add, I find it hard to believe. I don't think that's an insult; I just don't believe you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can add there is a word on the end of all of that that says fractions you guys i cant remember how to multi, divide, add, sub fractions all i remember is finding the common denominator

You would get better help if you relax a little. You're getting frustrated with the math and you are showing it toward people who could help you. For this problem, attack it in sections, start with the last bracket. In multiplication, multiply the top by the top, the bottom by the bottom (4)(5)/(5)(6) In fact, you can just cancel the 5's, draw a line through the 5 on top, and 5 on bottom; you are left with 4/6 Divide the top by 2, the bottom by 2 You are left with 2/3 The last bracket simplifies to 2/3

ok thanks

no problem
