Mrs. Maloney is doing a school project and needs to buy Frisbees. She found that the more Frisbees she bought, the less they cost per Frisbee. This is an example of what type of variation?

What types of variations do you know about?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Direct, Inverse, Joint, and Combined. They're confusing for me though :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok well something that is Directly related means that it increases by some constant amount each time the other increases. y = Cx where y and x are 'Directly' related. Each time x goes up by 1, y goes up by C. y = C/x is an example of y and x being inversely related. Each times x goes up by one, y gets smaller.

Oh o.k. So it would be an example of an Inverse variation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Indeed.

Thank you!

Very welcome.
