American Indians lived in America before Columbus came to America.

How do you know they are the "true natives"? Might someone have lived here before them? Or is it just that there were natives, then there was Columbus. I think genetics would tell you more about human migration than some imaginary native/Columbus dividing line

Maybe, but everyone migrated to where they are today. No one can claim to be a true "native." Civilization began in the Fertile Crescent and from there, people migrated across the world. God bless<><

The prevalent and most accepted theory is that people migrated over from Asia using a land bridge that existed over the Bering Straight some 20,000 years ago. The land bridge itself sunk around 10,000 years ago. The theory is called Beringia. Also, between then and now, there has been good evidence both ways that the vikings colonized North America long before Columbus was even a thought. Evidence of vikings can be found with the Heavner Rune Stone, which is a stone inscribed with viking runes found in Oklahoma, which may prove that vikings made it that fat South.
